Palak Upma. Spinach Upma can be served with coconut chutney , sambar or peanut chutney powder and a cup of filter coffee. In a Blender add chopped spinach (palak) ,tomato ,green chillies and blend to a smooth paste without adding any water. Wash and finely chop the spinach.
Palak upma pesarattu is an easy, healthy and very popular delicacy of Andhra Cuisine. It is prepared from split green gram, rice and whole green gram. This palak upma pesarattu is served for breakfast with a typical combination of upma and allam (ginger) chutney. You can have Palak Upma using 12 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook it.
Ingredients of Palak Upma
- It's of suji/semolina.
- Prepare of palak.
- You need of chopped bell pepper or capsicum.
- It's of chopped onion.
- Prepare of Oil/Ghee.
- You need of chopped green chillies.
- It's of curry leaves.
- Prepare of Chopped corriender.
- It's of Salt.
- Prepare of sugar.
- You need of mustard seeds.
- It's of water.

Palak Upma step by step
- Heat some oil/ghee in a pan. Add some mustard seeds, curry leaves. Let them splutter, then add chopped onion, chopped bell pepper/capsicum, chopped green chillies. Mix it well. Then add some salt and let it fry for about 3 mins..
- Until the onion & veggies are getting fried just blanch the palak leaves for 2 to 3 mins. Remove the excess water and blend it into a smooth paste..
- When the veggies are 70 percent done, add suji to it and fry it for 3 to 4 mins on a low flame..
- Then add the palak paste to 1 cup of measuring cup & add some water to make it 1 cup of measurement. When it becomes 1 cup add this to suji. Mix it well. Then add some salt, as per your taste, sugar and mix everything well. Cover the pan and cook it on a low flame for 3 to 4 mins..
- Then finally add a tsp of ghee to it. Mix it well. Switch off the flame and add some chopped coriander leaves and give it a mix. Your palak suji is now ready to be served. Serve it hot..
